Hillsdale College "Survey [i.e., disguised fundraiser]" Offers Insight to Fight the Right Wing

Like many of you, I get political junk mail out the wazoo, but these days it’s mostly e-mail.  People like Senators  Sherrod Brown, Jackie Rosen, etc., are often requesting donations, as are environmental groups, etc.  Some, like Brother Brown, merit a check or an Act Blue contribution, but most wind up in the recycling bin.  Hey, I ain’t no high roller.  Let George Clooney and the like give them the thousands.

But others give pause, kind of a ”Why they sendin’ me this crap?”  kind of a deal, y’know?  Such is my response when I get the few right-wing appeals.  I don’t know I how I got on these lists.  I think I registered once on National Review or something.

Hilllsdale, for those of you who don’t know, is the world headquarters of The Religious Right.  It’s like the Vatican for the Reformationists/Calvinists.  It’s now the Trumpist successor to The Heritage Foundation and Americans for Prosperity.

Here’s my responses to their “survey.”

Overall, do you think America has strayed too far from the Constitution?

Yes — because of The Supreme Court and satrapys like Hillsdale.

The administrative state operates with little accountability to the American People.  Do you think this is a threat to liberty?

This is bull.  Professional bureaucrats operate under the law.  They are trying to tell us people like a friend who was once a processor of farm subsidy applications are nefarious.  They are not.  They are hardworking public servants completing their legally sanctioned missions under the Appropriations Bills.

Do you agree with the lockdowns and mandates during the COVD-19 pandemic — and calls for new restrictions by unelected health “experts” — reveal the tyranny and hypocrisy of the administrative state?

No.  The resistance to same led to unnecessary deaths, more often in red counties than blue ones.

Do you agree that there is a double standard for members of the administrative state — that the ruling elite is not require to follow the same rules as other Americans?

No.  The administrative state and the ruling elite are mutually exclusive.

Are you concerned that not enough Americans understand the threat posed by the administrative state and and how it undermines the Constitution, liberty, and the rule of law?

More BS to fool the public.  the danger is Hillsdale and its fellow travelers.

I’ll omit the last question, which was a blatant money beg.

So there you have it.  This is what we’re fighting.
